Consider this episode an open thread to get the conversation started about state secession.
The truth is. . . THE JIG IS UP! The only thing that can save America from itself is for some states to secede from the union. The national leadership in the United States behaves like a Doomsday Cult set on destroying the country. "The Normals" are left in an abusive relationship with a domineering spouse (the federal government). We have irreconcilable differences and a divorce is necessary.

I will be the first to admit that decentralization is not the sexiest topic, HOWEVER, it is an extremely important concept worthy of study and consideration.
I contend that the root cause of virtually every problem we have in America (and around the world) stems from centralization. I also contend that these same problems can be fixed by decentralization.
At it's most basic level, think one-size-fits-all and monopoly power versus freedom to chose, experimentation and competition. Which do you prefer?

Resident Biden gave a brief address in the Rose Garden in early April, 2021 regarding his Executive Orders on gun control. In that short address, he made at least six clearly false statements or outright lies.
In this episode we focus our attention on one particularly misleading statement about gun show loopholes and use it as a lesson to demonstrate how the Left manipulates their voters and the media through the use of language.
It's the perfect storm! A voter base uninterested in the truth; just searching for bias confirmation. A political party willing to lie and mislead. And a media willing to parrot the narrative.
If you control the language (and the media), you can control the narrative, which explains why the Democrats refuse to debate their policies on their merits.

When Walter E. Williams passed away last week, the world lost a giant intellectual, prolific columnist, humorist, economist and preacher of the truth about free markets and the United States Constitution. He was a master communicator with an uncanny ability to make complex topics and theories understandable. Throughout his life, he demonstrated unwavering courage to stand up and tell the truth starting with his challenge of the U.S. Army and President John F. Kennedy over racial discrimination in the military while holding the lowly rank of Private!
He spent decades teaching economics at George Mason University and, along the way, blessed us with volumes of logic and common sense - some of which I share with you in this episode.

If you asked 100 people if they think America is healthy culturally, financially, spiritually, educationally, racially, or constitutionally, I am willing to bet a large majority would respond in the negative.
America is broken and the only thing that can save it (from itself) is state secession.
In this episode I build the case for secession:
- The reasons it is necessary
- Why secession is good
- Refute most of the common objections to secession
- Address how it could be accomplished in the 21st century
Please comment below and help build the secession movement.

When you think of Abe Lincoln what do you think? "Honest Abe?" A great orator? The Gettysburg Address? The five dollar bill? Mount Rushmore? He saved America? His assassination by John Wilkes Booth? His Zeus-like monument in Washington, D.C. He always ranks at or near the top of every list of “the greatest Presidents.”
But what is the truth about Abraham Lincoln?

In the last episode, we covered some of the lighter side issues like the importance of slowing down, enjoying our families, nature and the simple things in life. We also discussed the impact the crisis will have on future attendance at traditional four-year colleges and the continued failings of socialized medical systems.
Today we are going to look at this topic more from a public policy and economics’ perspective. We examine why the United States' federal government and all centralized political bodies are too big to succeed. In the shadow of the Coronavirus crisis, we look at the dramatic need for deregulation at all levels of government.
We end the episode with an examination of the crisis from a constitutional and economic angle: fiat currency, the importance of savings, and the stock market bubble pricked by the Coronavirus.

In Episode #87, I introduced you to the concept of secession. We reviewed current and past secession movements and offered three reasons it is necessary AND good - decentralization, self-determination and competition. In this episode, I discuss the fourth reason secession is desirable - the idea that smaller is better. After that, we will discuss how secession is justified and dispel the most common objections to the concept of secession.

The “S” word - secession - seems to be brought up with more and more frequency lately. Most recently we have seen counties in rural Virginia exploring the possibility of seceding from the state and joining West Virginia. We are seeing similar movements in Northern California and rural counties in Oregon. While those are wonderful developments, the larger question regarding secession is the idea of entire states seceding from the United States and essentially establish their own nation.
The idea of state secession picks up steam with every passing year as the federal government - the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches AND the federal bureaucracy - continues to enlarge its power base well beyond its enumerated powers in the Constitution.
In this episode, I will introduce you to the concept of secession, discuss some of the current and past secession movements and walk you through three reasons why secession is not only desirable but necessary. In Episode #88 we will discuss how secession is justified and rebut most of the arguments against it.

Is it just me or is anyone else bothered when you hear politicians and talking heads refer to America as democracy? The “D-word” is thrown around so often by so many that I don’t think many people bat an eye when they hear it.
What is the truth about democracy in America?

In the last two episodes, I introduced or re-introduced you to The Federalist Papers and discussed some of the checks and balances in the Constitution - the legislative and executive branches of government. Today we are going to discuss, as Paul Harvey used to say, “The rest of the story!” – the Judicial branch, States Rights, taxation, the military, and a brief look at the Necessary and Proper and Supremacy clauses of the Constitution.

Do you ever question the amount of time and energy spent fretting about the politics coming out of Washington D.C.? The Founding Fathers never thought that the average American would spend much time pondering the goings-on in D.C. After all, the federal government's power was constitutionally restricted. In this brief episode, I suggest an alternative to our seemingly unending focus on all things D.C.
